In June 2018 we lost a dearly loved member of our year group, Elido Vargas. To say he was the life and soul of our group is a huge underestimate. To remember Elido and in order to raise money for Papyrus, a charity that aims to reduce the number of young suicides, some of Elido’s closest friends took part in a rounders’ tournament on Thursday 18th October for Year 11 to participate in. Play ran throughout the day and after school, and students and staff donated money in order to play.
This week, on Wednesday 17th October, we also marked the loss of Elido and also Bradley Payne, who unfortunately passed away last December, with a memorial tree planting. We are extremely grateful to Garden Pride (part of the Notcutts family of garden centres) who generously donated the trees, stakes and fertiliser and to John Leonard from the garden centre who attended the tree planting.
