The Burgess Hill Academy is part of the University of Brighton Academies Trust; a network of 15 academies in Sussex all supporting each other, and their pupils, to excel.
The University of Brighton Academies Trust welcomes the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which becomes law today, 25 May 2018.
The changes to the law will have a significant impact across the Trust, including its academies and central teams. The Trust’s data protection web page includes information about how we use personal data; key policy documents, including our Data Protection Policy and privacy notices; and how to access information we hold.
Informed by guidance and advice published by the Information Commissioner’s Office, the Trust will continue to progress various activities to further strengthen arrangements for ensuring that personal data is handled securely.
Samantha Coates, Director of Planning, Policy and Governance, is the Trust’s Data Protection Officer. Ms Coates said: “Good progress has been made during the run up to this change in legislation. I am pleased that we are in a strong position to continue our work on improved compliance.”
