Masterchef 2017 University of Brigh
Last month eleven Year 9 students went to the Culinary Arts Studio, Eastbourne, where level 5 catering and hospitality is taught to University of Brighton students.
The students were in four teams, each doing a course from around the world. The menu was varied: Indian - onion bhajis, raita and huge naan breads; American - burgers, wedges and Boston beans; Italian - pea and basil shots, sundried tomato bread rolls, carrot and coriander soup; British- Banoffee Pie and Rainbow kebabs with chocolate sauce.
There was a winning team of Charmayne Smith and Harvey Taylor and an overall Masterchef winner of Jasmine Peters.
The students had a fantastic day rating it 12 out of 10 - this is enthusiasm and not poor maths ;-). The University praised the students from The Academy, "They have set a high standard for the week ahead with both their engagement and high quality of food! Well done to them all."
