On Monday 8th July 14 staff and 118 met to prepare for the annual residential trip to Blackland Farm. The Monday was spent in school learning camp craft and practising putting up tents and taking them down again before students went home at 3pm. The next day students and staff met up again on the playground with their luggage and departed on coaches at 9.30 am.
Once we arrived, students set about putting up their tents before breaking for lunch. At 1pm the students set off for their first lot of activities ranging from high rope activities, rock scrambling, and kayaking. This was followed by dinner prepared by the fantastic Mrs Everest and Mrs Grover from The Bytes Café . Then followed the second round of activities. In the evening we gathered together for a brief assembly and was followed by a couple of games and hot chocolate before bedtime.
The next two days the students took part in three activities, again high ropes, kayaking etc. On the Wednesday night we had the big camp fire with stories and camp songs. Thursday night was ended with more games and hot chocolate and popcorn.
The trip was a fantastic experience for our wonderful year 7s and all enjoyed themselves. All staff agreed that they were amazing.
